The singer and his wife were hospitalised and Michele was forced to undergo two surgeries on her left foot. She later took to Facebook.com to thank friends and family for their well wishes, insisting she felt "blessed" to have escaped serious harm.

According to the Associated Press, the offending driver, Jolliette Capo, was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
