Costner Turns Property Boss
Kevin Costner is planning to become a property tycoon - and has already picked out land in Deadwood, South Dakota, to build a housing development.
The Dances With Wolves actor, who recently (10NOV06) won a court battle to keep his stake in The Midnight Star casino in the city, has asked Deadwood authorities to annex eight acres (three hectares) along Highway 14A in order for his project to go ahead.
Costner's attorney, MIKE REYNOLDS, says his client plans to construct 88 single family homes and 72 town houses - all of which will be priced in the middle to higher end of the market.
City planner BERNIE WILLIAMS says, "It's a very big deal, it really is."
A decision on the annexing of the land will be made at a public hearing on 27 November (06).
