Cooper Looking Forward To Another Hangover

Actor BRADLEY COOPER is thrilled movie bosses are planning a sequel to THE HANGOVER, insisting he would rush to film the follow-up even if the script was awful.
The comedy, starring Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, was the surprise smash of 2009, raking in $459 million (£287 million) at the box office.
Writer/director Todd Phillips is already working on a second instalment - and Cooper is eager to get back on set with his pals.
He says, "Even if it's not a good script, I'd do it! When you have an experience like this with people you get along with, it's a rarity. So if someone says, 'Do you want to spend three months doing it again?' In a heartbeat!
"It's a very intimate thing you go through, shooting a movie. You find out whether you really like somebody, or you very much dislike somebody pretty fast. It's like doing a sport together."

Everybody Wants A Piece of Chris Pratt, Guardian of The Galaxy 4306392 News

It’s been a well-documented rise to fame for Chris Pratt – the guy who used to carve out sections of his Reebok classics because he couldn’t afford new ones that fit. Now, he leads an all star cast in Marvel’s latest multi-movie deal, and if the reviews are anything to go by, he’s got himself a franchise to be proud of.

Chris PrattChris Pratt executing part of the part-plan he has partly figured out

"What's really nice about this movie is that I believe we did something that's never been done before ... So, maybe people wouldn't have seen me in this role, but that's because they weren't able to have the vision that James [Gunn, director] had for what this could be,” explained Pratt to Collider.

But it hasn’t always been a smooth ride, and not just because of his growing feet and restrictive Reeboks; no, Pratt was facing something of a dilemma even while auditioning for the role of Peter Quill, who was removed from Earth before his tenth birthday and is now a fun-loving Star Lord whose prize possession is a Walkman that plays Seventies disco and Eighties pop.

"At the time [of my audition], I had been having an identity crisis, as an actor. I didn't know what I was and whether I was an action guy or a comedy guy,” he explained. Lucky, then, that his role in GOTG lets him fly with both jets. “I thought, 'Maybe I could do a combination of both, but there's nothing out there that's like that. Maybe I have to develop something'. And my manager just kept saying, 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. So, I said, 'Maybe you're right. Let's go meet on it'. And then, James said, 'I just want somebody to do their thing'.”

'Guardians of the Galaxy' finally hits town on 31 July (UK) and a day later in the US. Big things are expected from the box so check back on Monday to see how Pratt and his space-hopping cohorts performed.

“They're the thieves, the bounty hunters and the neglected”, explains Zoe Saldana of their characters in this featurette. “It's not a typical superhero movie.” Chris Pratt – who plays the ‘hero’ role, adds: “Peter Quill is the only human in this crazy world. He doesn't have superhuman strength or the abillity to fly but he uses his cunning and his charm to get himself out of situations.” Finally, Bradley Cooper – who plays a machine gun-wielding Racoon, Rocket - spoke highly of the melding of genres, both action and comedy. “There's a lot of humour in this one and a lot of heart. There's nothing like it, that's for sure.”

Surprise, Surprise: Thanks To Marvel, Robert Downey Jr. Continues His Reign As Hollywood's Richest Actor 4298605 News

It’s that time of the year again. With Forbes having published its annual list of Hollywood’s richest, it’s time to calculate exactly how many times Robert Downey Jr’s paycheck for a single movie can cover your annual salary. Hint: many times.

Robert Downey Jr.
RDJ won. No surprises there, right?

For the second year in a row, Mr. Downey topped the actors list with a stunning $75 million earned between June 2013 and June 2014. Downey, who restored his career with the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man in the eponymous Marvel franchise, has now become irreplaceable for the studio and thus, earned himself substantial pay increases for the Iron Man and Avengers sequels.

More: Robert Downey Jr. Crowned King Of The Box Office

While Downey’s top spot isn’t really a surprise, the runner-up came out of left field this year – it’s Dwayne Johnson with $52 million. Johnson has shown himself to be incredibly business savvy with his transition into a full-time movie career. In recent years, he has bagged roles in several franchises, including G. I. Joe, Fast and Furious and now, Hercules, which industry insiders claim may have franchise potential. And let’s not forget the Rock’s budding TV career with the HBO show Ballers. Johnson is executive producing and starring in the comedy about a group of football players.

Dwayne Johnson
The Rock just keeps on rolling. In a movie fortune, that is.

Bradley Cooper, another franchise star, thanks to The Hangover, came in third with $46 million. Cooper manages the delicate balance of blockbusters with passion projects like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. Read the full list over on the Forbes website.

Robert Downey Jr Is The Biggest Earner in Hollywood, Again 4297623 News

Robert Downey Jr. is the highest paid actor in Hollywood for a second year running, Forbes has announced, putting Iron Man star top of the list with earnings totalling around $75 million. It is his involvement with the Marvel franchise that boosts his position to pole – the movie bagged around $1.2b when it was released last May and comprises the bulk of his counted earnings.

Given Iron Man’s heavy involvement with the Avengers team – the highest grossing single film in the entirety of the company’s output – Downey Jr. presence in the upcoming instalment, Age of Ultron, means he’ll be ‘there or there abouts’ for a few years to come, we’d predict.

Dwayne Johnson, or The Rock, has enjoyed a hugely profitable year, jumping from fifth to second spot; he’s estimated to have made $52 million (£30m) after starring in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and the Fast and Furious films. The 42-year-old is currently on press duties for his upcoming Hercules movie.

Bradley Cooper’s “work in the lucrative Hangover franchise has given him the ability to take risks with smaller films like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle," said Forbes. The Hangover star is third in the list, despite enjoying some critically acclaimed roles in smaller budget movies. He’s back on the popcorn hunt with Guardians of The Galaxy, though.

Leonardo DiCaprio is never far away from these lists; it is estimated that The Wolf of Wall Street, which made $395 million worldwide, and The Great Gatsby earned the 39-year-old an estimated $39 million in waged. Compare that to Jonah Hill’s payslip for Martin Scorsese’s take of debauchery and you’ll wince.

Thor actor Chris Hemsworth completed the top five with $37 million while Mark Wahlberg, who was in fourth last year following the success of Ted, only just managed a top 10 finish this year along with Will Smith.

Vin Diesel Talks This Summer's Weirdest Bromance 4296423 News

Yet in conversation with Access Hollywood, Diesel summed up the relationship between his and Bradley Cooper's characters in Guardians of the Galaxy with equal simplicity: "They love each other".

Rocket and GrootThe unlikely duo were seen wreaking havoc in the film's latest trailer

In what is possibly the most epic bromance of the summer, Vin Diesel plays a humanoid tree named Groot, who is only capable of saying the same phrase over and over: "I'm Groot", whilst Bradley Cooper lends his voice to a trash-talking mercenary raccoon named Rocket. Amazingly, the two actors never worked together in the studio, and Diesel the CGI team and director James Gunn with making sure their on-screen relationship was out of this world.

More: Guardians Of The Galaxy's Groot Appears Cast Favourite Following Q&A

Diesel said that his motivation for taking on the role was his children, and he was thrilled that they loved the finished product.

"I don't think [Marvel] thought that I would do the role, but when I got it, when I got the concept art, I went home and I showed it to my family and I asked them, 'Which character do you think they want daddy to play?' and the kids pointed to the tree and there was something in that moment where I went, 'This is going to tap into people in a way that I can't even explain. Jump cut to [my kids] seeing the movie, loving the movie, imitating Groot and Rocket and everybody…my kids now look at trees differently."

Vin Diesel

Certainly the role is (literally) worlds apart from the kind of films Vin is normally seen in; he has just finished filming Fast & Furious 7, in which he plays the lead role of Dominic Toretto. Yet an action hero is an action hero in any galaxy, and Guardians of the Galaxy is shaping up to be a summer treat for sci-fi and action fans worldwide.

Robert Downey Jr Crowned King of the Box Office 4296347 News

With an estimated income of $75 million between June 2013 and June 2014, Downey Jr. shows that he's somewhat similar to his onscreen counterpart, billionaire superhero Tony Stark. 2014 has actually been a fairly quiet year for Downey Jr. considering there is no Marvel blockbuster hitting our screens (featuring him, at any rate) but he still managed to maintain his spot at the top.

Robert Downey JrIt's been another great year for Robert Downey Jr.

Second place went to wrestler turned actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, whose $52 million seems paltry compared to Downey Jr., but is still a figure most of us dream of making in a lifetime, let alone a single year. Johnson had a busy 2013 with the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain and Gain, and Fast & Furious 6, and is set to return to the big screen this summer in the blockbuster Hercules

Next on the list was Bradley Cooper, close behind Johnson on $46 million. He received an Oscar nomination earlier this year for his performance in crime drama American Hustle, but his next role will see him voicing a psychotic animated raccoon named Rocket in Marvel's long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy.

Another superhero scored the fifth spot; Chris Hemsworth, who is also the only non-American in the top five. The success of Thor 2 and racing drama Rush has pushed him firmly up the A List and aside from reprising his role as the Asgardian God in next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Hemsworth is also signed on for a variety of high-profile projects, including Ron Howard's sea epic Heart of the Sea

Chris Hemsworth
Fellow superhero and Avenger Chris Hemsworth also made the Top Five

However, the list did reveal that the pay gap between men and women in Hollywood is still shockingly evident: no actress managed to break the top ten, and even arguably the most famous actress working today, Angelina Jolie, only made $33 million in 2013 according to Forbes' last list.

“Marvel’s @Guardians is magnificent. Hilarious, touching, action packed, I don’t think I could’ve liked it more. @JamesGunn killed it. Wow. Thank god that movie was good cause my night got decidedly worse right after that. Wedged my car good.… I don't like to take advantage of my awesome position, but this time I made an exception. Just RSVP'd to see @Guardians again after #SDCC,” wrpte Germain Lussier of Slashfilm, over a good few Tweets.

Steven Weintraub of Collider tweeted, “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY opens up the Marvel universe in a great way. Movie is awesome & extremely funny. Congrats @JamesGunn. You did it. And anyone wondering if a talking racoon and tree wouldn't work, they have some of the best scenes and I loved both of them. #GUARDIANS.”

And finally, Devin Faraci of BadAssDigest tweeted, “Groot is the new star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I really liked GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. The characters work so well together. Weird thing: whileGUARDIANS has the most Thanos-wank yet it's the Marvel movie that stands most on its own. It feels whole.”

Wimbledon 2014: Samuel L Jackson, Hugh Jackman & Keira Knightley Watch Epic Men's Final [Pictures] 4275521 News

Celebrities flocked to South London over the past fortnight to see the stars of the tennis court compete at Wimbledon. Stars from around the world attended with Chris Hemsworth and Hugh Jackman representing Australia, Samuel L Jackson and Bradley Cooper from the US and, of course, an assortment of famous British faces. Nowhere were more celebrity faces present than at the Men's final on Sunday (6th July).

The Men's final on Sunday (6th July) always draws huge crowds and celebrity doubles cropped up throughout Centre Court including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince and Kate Middleton. The couple sat in the Royal box and watched as Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic battled it out for the championship. Yet throughout the crowd other couples watched including Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky, David and Victoria Beckham and Keira Knightley and James Righton.

Bradley CooperBradley Cooper also watched the match.

The match was an incredible one and will surely go down in history as one of the best, albeit unsuccessful comebacks, in tennis. Djokovic was merely two points away winning the championship during the third set when Federer battled his way back. Unfortunately for the much beloved Swiss player it wasn't meant to be, and Djokovic took home the trophy.

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa PatakyChris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky looked adorable as they watched the match together.

The crowd's reaction was certainly appalling and it was as if Djokovic was playing against the crowd as much as against Federer. The crowd were overwhelmingly in support of Federer and vocally demonstrated their bias. But, the celebrities in the crowd were considerably more polite and kept their preference well hidden.

Actor Samuel L Jackson attended the match alongside his close friend and publicist, Sofia Davis. 65-year-old Jackson has been spending a great deal of time in the UK promoting awareness for Davis' charity, One For The Boys, which aims to promote awareness for men's cancers and encourage men to discuss their health issues. He recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show alongside actress Keira Knightley, who was also at the Wimbledon final alongside her husband, Klaxon's band member James Righton.

Chris Hemsworth and his wife of three years, actress Elsa Pataky, also attended the final and looked adorable with Hemsworth's arm wrapped around his broadly smiling wife. Another acting couple, and Hemsworth's fellow Australians, Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee were also present at the sporting event. Jackman looked unrecognisable with his head shaved, sporting a distinctive black moustache and goatee.

Djokovic was merely two points away winning the championship during the third set when Federer battled his way back. Unfortunately for the much beloved Swiss player it wasn't meant to be, and Djokovic took home the trophy.

US rapper Pharrell Williams was the surprise performer of the evening and treated guests at the annual fund-raiser to a neat half-hour set of his chart-topping, soulful pop. "We're in the best artistic environment we could be in," Williams said as the sun set and the moon rose over the leafy gardens.

Perhaps three of the most photographed guests of the evening were actress Keira Knightley, model Cara Delevingne and Alexa Chung, who opted for Chanel, Mulberry and Erdem gowns respectively. Laid-back hair and understated make-up was the look of the night with most of the female guests keeping to the garden's fresh and natural theme.

As has been tradition for the past 14 years, the Serpentine Gallery invited a leading architect to design a temporary Pavilion outside the gallery in Kensington Gardens. Following the talents of Ai Weiwei (2012), Frank Gehry (2008), and the late Oscar Niemeyer (2003), Smiljan Radic has designed the 2014 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion - a doughnut-shaped fibreglass shell resting on stacks of large rocks, which was unveiled at this week's Summer Party.
