Cook And Clifford Rule Out Creedence Revival

Two founding members of Creedence Clearwater Revival have ruled out ever reuniting with frontman John Fogerty, insisting his offer of an olive branch is "20 years too late".

Fogerty, the main songwriter for the Bad Moon Rising hitmakers, quit the group in 1971 at the height of its popularity, and has been at war with his former bandmates Stu Cook and Doug Clifford ever since.

In July last year (11), rumours of a possible reunion were sparked when Fogerty admitted he hadn't ruled out a comeback and he'd "sit still long enough to listen" if an offer was on the table.

But Cook and Clifford have now spoken out to scupper fans' hopes of a reconciliation, insisting there is too much bad blood between the musicians for it to work.

Cook tells Uncut magazine, "Leopards don't change their spots. This is just an image-polishing exercise by John. My phone certainly hasn't rung."

And drummer Clifford tells the publication, "It might have been a nice idea 20 years ago, but it's too late."
