Michael Jackson - Conrad Murray's Lawyer: 'Michael Jackson Died So Quickly He Didn't Have Time To Close His Eyes'

Michael Jackson died from a cocktail of tranquillisers and a surgical anaesthetic he administered himself, according to lawyers representing the King of Pop's personal physician DR. Conrad Murray.
Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial began in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning (27Sep11) and, after prosecutors took aim at the doctor's "gross negligence" and "unskilled acts", which they claimed led directly to his celebrity patient's death, defence lawyer Ed Chernoff addressed the court and gave his side of the 2009 tragedy.
In his opening statement, the physician's lawyer told jurors that Jackson "died rapidly, so instantly, he didn't even have time to close his eyes".
Murray is accused of administering the lethal dose of anaesthetic Propofol which cost the King of Pop his life. Jackson was using the drug as a painkiller and sleep aid.
The doctor's defence team claims Jackson injected himself with a lethal dose of the anaesthetic.
Murray was hired to look after Jackson's health as the ailing pop superstar prepared for his This Is It comeback concerts in London. Jackson died at his rented home in Los Angeles during rehearsals.
