Michael Jackson - Conrad Murray To Appeal Conviction

Dr. Conrad Murray is to appeal his conviction for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.

The medic - who was sentenced to four years behind bars last week after he was ruled responsible for the 2009 death of the pop superstar - has filed an official appeal to challenge the decision "pro per", meaning he will represent himself.

In preparation for the case, Dr. Murray - who is currently serving his sentence at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles - has requested preliminary hearing and trial transcripts, all written motions, and jury instructions, and is said to be "confident" the appeal will see him vindicated for the crime.

Nareg Gourjian - one of the lawyers who represented him in the manslaughter trail, who he is still in frequent contact with - told TMZ: "This case presents a gold mine of issues for any appellate lawyer. Dr. Murray is confident that the Court of Appeal will vindicate him."

Despite the appeal, it is thought the medic could be out of jail by Christmas and allowed to serve most of his sentence under house arrest because of the non violent nature of his crime.

A source recently said: "The Sheriff will determine when Dr. Murray will be released on house arrest. Dr. Murray is hoping that he will be released by Christmas. His lawyers have told him that is a real possibility."

he relinquished his right to appear at an appeal, under oath and on the record, subsequent to the rendering of the verdict and sentencing. if the judge permits his lawyers to remove themselves from the case, undoctors only recourse is to submit moving papers, which will be presented to the judge, the prosecution can appear and argue against them. at any rate the pleadings are generally heard by the same judge who heard the case, and must show a procedural error in order to reopen the matter.so, undoctor should get nice and comfortable in jail, he isnt going anywhere so fast.

the defence lawyers a dillusionary as he is! the judge made it clear that the probation report showed cm had no remorse and was a danger to society at large. the appeal will be heard by the same judge who made the ruling. sure the trial was a gold mine of mistakes, however, the mistakes, conceit, and contempt of court were made by both the felon and his attorneys, not the court or defense. so, get comfortable murray, youre not going anway so fast

Why can't this sad excuse of a human take it on the chin like a man and get on with this insult of a sentence instead of dragging-up the past & upsetting Michael's family further. Now, he wants to 'speak'! He had had that oppertunity but declined - I wish Judge Pastor can find some law which gives him the power to impose a higher sentence when this appeal fails.Murray should remain where he is as passions are high & if he succeeds (which I doubt), his life will be in danger. He has no remorse, and removed himself from the real truth: he killed Michael Jackson and is lucky he's not serving a longer sentence.

AMERICAN JUSTICE STINKS SO MUCH THAT IS VERY HARD TO BREATH!! The killer is trying so hard to get away from his crime and still feels he's an innocent bastard!, what a nerve he has. I wish someone would finish him off, this evil doesn't deserve to live. It doesn't matter if he hadn't done any crime in the past, most murders don't have dirty past but two years ago he killed the most loving, goregous, , meek , sweet, kind and much much more person in the world . I hate you shmack,

He is a psychopath plan and simple. He would do well for himself to face up to his crime and what is the truth and get on with it. He is an arrogant lier and lives in a world not mean't for this planet. Man he has a nerve and needs to stop wasting the court systems time.
