Michael Jackson - Conrad Murray: 'Stress Killed Michael Jackson'

Michael Jackson's former physicist DR. Conrad Murray has filed new legal papers he hopes will help land him back in court to prove his tragic patient died from financial stress.
Murray claims his manslaughter conviction should be overturned on the grounds that the judge should have allowed him to prove the King of Pop was so stressed out he recklessly gambled on his life by self-administering a fatal dose of anaesthetic Propofol.
The doctor has been fighting for his freedom ever since he was jailed last year (11).
In his new documents, obtained by Tmz.com, he states, "Mr. Jackson was in debt approximately $440 million and desperately needed to fulfill a contractual commitment at the O2 arena in London."
His lawyers continue, "He (Jackson) was on the verge of losing his entire estate to foreclosure. The pressure to fight through his insomnia, to rehearse and be the entertainer he was in his earlier years was overwhelming.
"His motivation and resulting desperation were relevant to show a likelihood or reason to act in a manner inconsistent with good judgment."

What bothers me is why did Michael Jackson trust his care to such as Conrad Murray without proper monitoring equipment? Didn't he realise the danger? Perhaps he was just too desperately tired through lack of sleep. A lot of things just don't make sense. However that does not absolve Murray from his guilt of negligence in administering Propofol in a home situation, not having the necessary equipment, and abandoning his patient. Another question is, why hasn't there been an inquest?

Nina Hamilton see the two posts immediately below your own for your answers. Don't act all innocent for him. He knew what he was asking. The best example is stiggy's (and I quote) "If you want a professional service you ensure you hire a professional. If you ask them to provide you propofol and other drugs and they say yes, how professional do you expect them to be? You got yourself a dose of unethical there. But, if you want the drugs, you hit the jackpot. But be prepared for the side effects.". He was saying that Jackson was aware of Murray's disregard to his oath which was fine, because that's what Jackson needed. An unethical doctor to feed him. So like he also said, how stupid do you think Michal Jackson was that during his whole life he never once was responsible for it? Nothing was ever his fault it was always someone else he blamed. He hires a doctor on the basis he will provide him with his addiction needs, but he's not to blame for that. Come on, we can all find a supplier if we want to. Do you think he was stupid and/or gullible. I think not. I agree with stiggy and nitram. He knew what he was asking and that a doctor says yes to to your addiction needs tells you you just BOUGHT yourself a dealer. There was no inquest because the autopsy found cause of death and Murray was being investigated. There was never any question as to how and who. Murray never denied giving propofol. No inquest needed. I doubt you'll find anyone was thinks Murray is not innocent and will agree he deserves to be in prison. But you'll be hard pressed to find someone who is not a fan to agree that Jackson was not jointly responsible for what happened to him. He has to take some of the blame. He was the one who wanted the drugs. No-one was force feeding him. And HE let it happen in his own house, where his children lived and slept. But let me guess, that was not his fault either? You're damned right it was.

Yes, 'I ain't kidding', but have you ever wondered why Michael Jackson would need something as powerful and dangerous as Propofol in the first place. As a hugely talented musical genius and powerful historical influential figure, to get to that level, he suffered much stress, pressure and injuries from accidents; not failing to mention the false accusations and lies in the media. That was why he needed prescription medications and Propofol to ease his pain to keep on entertaining and making people happy. MJ paid the ultimate price for his fame and giving the world so much; and we should not judge him until we have walked in his shoes. I think you meant 'I doubt you'll find anyone who thinks Murray is innocent.'

Nina, not wanting to be argumentative but for what it’s worth, it’s irrelevant why he needed to continue taking drugs. Once he decided to legally bring children into his life was when he should have taken necessary steps to clean himself up. Even if that meant undergoing psychiatric treatment to get over the initial reasons for becoming addicted. That he didn’t do that to help ensure his presence in their lives for a reasonable life expectancy shows he didn’t put them first. That he brought people into his life to help feed his addictions shows lack of responsibility towards them despite his preaching of love of children. That he brought people like Murray into his home, where his children played and slept, shows that he did not have regard for them. He, not them, were the top of his priority list. Otherwise he would have done anything necessary to safeguard them. Not just from his addictions but from the world’s backlash that would ensue once it was out.By the time this residency came to be, he should have been 12/13+ years beyond the need of drugs. His children’s presence in his life should have seen to that. But it seems their existence did not achieve that. Sadly, it appears, his need to break a record, to perform and please his fans came before the need to secure his children’s future happiness. Millions of parents worldwide manage to raise their children with much, much less, financially, than Michael Jackson had. People manage to raise children without the need of filling their bodies with chemicals and drugs. Just because you are famous does not excuse you to do otherwise. If fame is detrimental to your family and health, then it’s time to re-evaluate and do what is necessary to ensure your kids future including their lone parent. Surely his financial situation afforded him to do that much more than mind would. No parent should take the responsibility for the lives of others when they are incapable of being responsible for their own. If I were to fill myself with chemicals and drugs I’m sure my children would not be allowed in my presence without supervision. I’m sure my wife would make sure that they were not exposed to such things in their own home but I know that we both do what we can to keep such things out of their lives and especially out of their home. What did Michael Jackson do to in this regard? Nothing. Fans may excuse and defend but they should also realise that outside the fan base, the world does not look upon Michael Jackson as a genius or influence. We see him as a drug addict who didn’t leave it at the front door. We see someone who put his own needs above everyone else, including his children. We see someone who blamed everyone but himself for his life and inability to change. Michael Jackson is seen as someone who lived a very suspect life and will be remembered for it.

seriously???????????? stress killed Jackson, really, hm if you guys only knew, did he know what stress was, how the hell does he know what stress is, when he was alive he continued to watch someone stress and go under as he offered his help and lied and deceived her. Why he would do that to someone who never deserved it, is beyond words. The only ones he helped were girls of 17 to 25, they were his biggest concern. He was sleeping with them and pimping them out shortly before his death.Action speaks louder than words. He was NOT what he seemed to be. At least one person he hated and for some reason did not care at all, (played a sick game, left her out in the cold as he watched and drove by only to pick up a 17 yr old to sleep with)trust me he was sick. If I may remind you all , these girls are like 4 yrs older than his son if that.Hows that for the Jackson you all think you know. He treated girls that mistreated him better than someone that loved him at one time, genuinely. To add to this comment...these girls were happy to oblige of course, they received gifts and trips for well following someone and having fun while the other girl (his age) suffered, why I dont know what his motive was, maybe to treat the way he was treated. HE IS FAR FROM SPIRITUAL OR A HUMANITARIAN TRUST ME. He also cheated a little girl, how sick is that. The only ones he likes are these 200 or more young girls that he pimps out. I would say something else that he did to someone close to him, however right now I will leave it and just tell others that are not online.

Random Axe of Kindless's picture

Random Axe of K...

There is nothing I aint kidding has written that makes sense of a reply of 'walked in his shoes' and 'look in the mirror'. How about being rational and reading what the views are and debating like an adult rather than coming across as some 12 year old. He made some very reasonable and valid points, mainly showing concerns for his children and how it seems they were living in a home with unethical procedures being carried out, not just with Jacko's knowledge but for him. How about telling him why you think he is incorrect in his views or why he is wrong thinking that having children and drugs under the same roof is OK. How about telling him why he put his career before his children. I also ask why his drug addiction and career was paramount to his children. That's not judging by the way, it's questions. I don't need or want to walk a mile in his shoes (which is the correct saying by the way) because I don't want to live his life in any way or have his reputation. Like the poster said, outside his fanbase his legacy is not his dancing but his life choices. His fans are not seen as dedicated but misguided and/or fooled.
