Conrad Murray Ordered To Pay Jackson Kids $100 Million?
Things appear to be going from bad to worse for Conrad Murray, after prosecutors asked Judge Michael Pastor to order the doctor to pay Michael Jackson's children more than $100 million for their loss.
According to new court documents seen by TMZ.com, the singer's three children are "entitled to wages of profits lost due to injury incurred by the victim". At the time of his death, Michael was ready to embark on his hugely lucrative 'This Is It' tour, which would have generated around $100 million in revenue. Prosecutors claim his children are victims under the law and are therefore entitled to restitution from Dr Murray that includes loss of earnings and funeral expenses. And if that wasn't enough, the district attorney is also seeking the maximum punishment of four years in a state prison for the doctor, who was convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson earlier this month - prosecutors said he was "risking Mr Jackson's life every night" and that he lied to cover up his crime. Murray has been in prison since November 7 2011 while awaiting sentencing.
Michael Jackson's lifeless body was found at his Los Angeles mansion on June 25, 2009, three weeks before he was to begin a series of comeback concerts at London's O2 Arena. Professionals testifying during the six week trial agreed that Dr Murray should never have administered his patient with Propofol - a powerful anaesthetic often used in surgery.
