Conrad Murray Debts Led To Michael Jackson Death According To Witness
Case between AEG and Katherine Jackson now well underway
Conrad Murray’s severe financial problems were to blame for Michael Jackson’s death, so a Los Angeles police detective told the court at the lengthy looking trial between the King of Pop’s mother, Katherine Jackson, and live promoters AEG, who had booked the star to play 50 shows at London’s O2 Arena.
Detective Orlando Martinez testified in court yesterday (May 1, 2013) and said that he’d found that Dr Conrad Murray was some $500,000 in debt at least and thus was possibly influenced by the huge figure that would have been on offer to provide Jackson’s healthcare. Murray of course was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 for giving the drugs that ultimately killed the artist. Martinez pointed out that Murray had shut down all of his clinics just so that he could work with one patient – Jackson.
The attempt to work out what Murray’s motives were for taking on the job is just the beginning of finding out – ultimately – who it was who was at fault for employing him. Jackson’s mother says that it was AEG’s responsibility and that by hiring the doctor they showed neglect in their duty to care for her son so long as they got the 50 concerts and the accompanying revenue. However AEG are claiming that Murray was Jackson’s responsibility and thus he brought about his own demise.
