Conan O'Brien is paying some 50 stagehands who worked on his show and were not included in last month's exit settlement with NBC at least six weeks of severance out of his own pocket, the website TMZ reported today (Tuesday), citing sources close to the production. The website quoted a spokesperson for the IATSE local representing the crew members as saying that the members are "very happy" with the way Conan handled the matter. O'Brien reportedly received a $45 million exit package, of which $13 million was expected to go to staff members, musicians, regular talent, and other production personnel. However, TMZ indicated, stagehands were not covered by the severance plan.
