Conan O Brien Officiates Gay Wedding On Live Television
According to the New York Daily News, the host performed the ceremony live on stage at the Beacon Theatre, telling the audience, "This is for real.We are gathered here today in this beautiful place to witness the joining of two lives". Cronick walked down the aisle donning a metallic silver and black suit he designed himself, accompanied by his favourite celebrity, Bravo's Andy Cohen. He and Gorshein then exchanged vows under a traditional Jewish chuppah while friends and family watched from the side of the stage. Cronick told his partner, "Cameras or no cameras David, I'm here today and I am yours forever". Following the tradition, O'Brien declared them newlyweds, saying, "Alright, this is it.By the power vested in me by the state of New York and the Universal Life Church Monastery, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You can kiss the groom".
Confetti then exploded over the married couple, who rode off aboard a stuffed buffalo. It's the first televised wedding since Tiny Tim married Miss Vicki on the 'Tonight Show' in 1969.
