Ryan Gosling - Comedy Lover Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling jumped at the opportunity to star in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' because comedies are his favourite films.
Ryan Gosling loves comedy movies.
The Canadian actor - who is best known for serious romantic roles in 'The Notebook' and 'Blue Valentine' - admits he jumped at the chance to star in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' alongside Julianne Moore and Emma Stone because he had never had the opportunity to star in a humorous project before.
He said: "Comedies have always been my favourite movies and I always wanted to make them but then I got into drama and never had the chance. But I also know that so much of comedy is about who you work with and your chemistry with the other actors."
The 30-year-old hunk spent much of the film improvising as the director thought some performances were boring, and he had to bring someone on-set to help get him into the right frame of mind.
He added to the Metro newspaper: "I don't have a choice. These directors, they get bored and they're like, 'Boring! Surprise me!' "So I had a friend come to the set and we would just rip with each other between sets, so if they were to call me to make the scene in another direction I would be prepared."
