Colin Farrell Turns 'Sexy Vampire' For Fright Night
The Dublin-born actor spoke to Reuters about his reservations at remaking the much-loved movie, saying, "I was dubious at first. I loved the original and you like to think of yourself as mixing things up and being a bit original. I just loved the script. I didn't want to like it, but it was a blast of a read". When quizzed on whether he thought all vampires were "sexy", the actor claimed, ".that's the appeal", adding, ".how they attack and feed off their prey seems very sensual and erotic - biting the neck. You don't have to be a vampire to partake in such activity, but it takes it to an extreme. Blood is the liquid of life". The new movie, directed by 'Lars and the Real Girl' filmmaker Craig Gillespie, follows a teenager who suspects his new neighbour is a vampire. Farrell is joined by an all-star cast including Anton Yelchin and former Doctor Who star David Tennant. 'Fright Night' hits cinemas in the U.S. on Friday (19th August 2011).
Despite his brief foray into horror, Farrell will return to comedy for Martin Mcdonagh's movie 'Seven Psychopaths', about a screenwriter who gets caught up in his friend's dog-kidnapping plot.
