Cole's Violent Film Put On Indefinite Hold

Model Lily Cole's acting career has been dealt a blow - her controversial latest film has been shelved following a bad response to its violent trailer.

Viewers were left shocked after disturbing clips from The Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll hit the internet, with the 22 year old appearing as Alice in a story about the Alice In Wonderland author.

Studio bosses have since decided to shut down the entire project, which was directed by goth rocker Marilyn Manson and also stars Tilda Swinton.

A source tells Britain's Mail on Sunday, "The trailer caused such a backlash that a decision was made to close down the project. It's unlikely it will ever see the light of day."

According to the publication, the film is now officially on 'indefinite production hold'.

This is one of the few movies I have been irrevocably and ridiculously excited for. I have been waiting for four years just to be told that the film is now officially on 'indefinite production hold'. This is absolutely contemptible!!! My infinite apologies to Marilyn.

If people are so angry or offended by such films as Phantasmagoria, or SAW, The Hills Run Red etc. why watch the trailer for the film? Isn't it common sence, that if you don't like something, don't get involved in or with it. It's rediculous! Everyone has their own opinions about what films they like or don't like. Nobody forces you to watch these films or their trailers, so why are people watching it if they know they don't like voilence/gore/horror? I don't sit there, watching, for example, Mama Mia, saying, ''God, I hate this so much! Ew, this is so crappy! I'm offended by it's crappiness!'' I turn over and watch something else.

Um...what about the SAW series? Hostel? The gore horror boom that's been going around? What about people's right to watch it or not? I don't get why some people go around looking for stuff to feel offended about. If you don't think you'll like it, then don't watch it. Seriously, some folks out there are obsessed with wanting to control other people instead of focusing on controlling their own lives.

Violent? What about the war in Iraq or the Saw sequels, are they less violent? Humanity doesn't ceases to surprise me... What an incredibly hypocrit, limited and ridiculous world we live in...

This is the reason why peple don't like letting the public know about projects like this. If you do not want to see the movie than don't go & see it. People like this are useless when it come to other people's projects. Thanks alot for ruining this movie for everyone that has been waiting for this production.
