Coldplay Leading Charge For 2009 Brits With Four Nominations

Coldplay and Duffy are the frontrunners for the 2009 Brits with a quartet of nominations each.

Both artists are named in the best album and best single category, with Duffy also named in the best British female and best breakthrough categories.

Chris Martin and co, meanwhile, are also nominated in the best British live act category, alongside the Verve, Scouting for Girls, Iron Maiden and Elbow, the latter also named with Coldplay in the best British group category, along with Girls Aloud, Radiohead and Take That.

It was announced earlier this week that Kylie Minogue is to host this year's ceremony on February 18th, with Gavin & Stacey stars James Corden and Mathew Horne.
