Coldplay - Coldplay Announce Fifth Album 'Mylo Xyloto'
Coldplay have announced their fifth studio album 'Mylo Xyloto' will be released in the U.S on 25th October 2011. Produced by Markus Dravs with additional composition by Brian Eno, the record is the band's first release since 2008's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends", reports Billboard.com.
The album is preceded by first single 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall', which debuted at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, before climbing to number 14. Other tracks on the album include the "bass-heavy" 'Up in Flames' and forthcoming single 'Paradise'. The band have announced digital and CD formats, as well as a special edition Pop-Up album containing a hardback book, exclusive content and the band's personal notebooks. Coldplay manager Dave Holmes confirms the band will play a brief tour of U.K and Europe in December before heading off on a global tour next spring. Their last string of concerts, in support of 'Viva La Vida', grossed more than $126 million. Discussing the upcoming record, lead singer Chris Martin said, "We've been together long enough that I know how everyone else is feeling, and it makes me excited when I feel the others are excited.Maybe I speak too soon, but they don't seem unexcited. They seem pretty fired up".
Coldplay recently played a headline set at the Glastonbury Festival, performing a series of tracks from Mylo Xyloto including 'Charlie Brown', 'Us Against the World', and 'Major Minus'.
