Janet Jackson - Clemons Remembered Fondly By Music Stars
Janet Jackson, Bryan Adams and rockers Coldplay are among the stars who have added their tributes to Clarence Clemons.
The legendary saxophonist, who played with Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band, died on Saturday (18Jun11) at the age of 69 after suffering complications stemming from a major stroke he suffered earlier this month (Jun11).
Springsteen paid tribute to his "great friend" after the tragic news broke, and scores of musicians have flocked to add their condolences.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, Janet Jackson writes, "Clarence Clemons was a wonderful talent. He will be on my mind tonight", while her brother Jackie adds, "Clarence Clemons you will be greatly missed - Rip."
Adams described Clemons as "one of the greatest rock sax players", while Coldplay simply stated on their website: "Rip our favourite saxophone player, Clarence 'Big Man' Clemons".
Actor Rob Lowe wrote on his Twitter page, "Clarence Clemons was an electric, generous, sweet spirit. Taught me how to look cool with a sax. Goodbye Big Man. Legendary."
Rocker Tom Morello adds, "Thank you so much Big Man for sweetening the sound of our planet with your sax and your soul."
