CLAIRE DANES, the American actress best known for her role in BAZ LUHRMANN's acclaimed movie 'Romeo and Juliet, walked away with the GOLDEN GLOBE for 'Best Actress in a Mini-Series or TV Movie' at Sunday night's award ceremony (16th January 2011), reports OK Magazine. Danes picked up the honour for her performance in the film 'Temple Grandin', a biopic about the autistic American doctor of animal science.
The actress had earlier wowed photographers and fans as she walked down the red carpet in a pink Calvin Klein dress. After being asked for her beauty tips, the 31-year-old replied, "I said before, it's annoyingly obvious: sleep, exercise, eating real foods". In terms of her resolutions for 2011, Danes said, "What is my resolution? I always like to return phone calls. To be a better person and friend" The actress has a number of projects lined up, most notably playing a CIA officer in the television series 'Homeland', however she insists that she still regrets not finishing college. Danes said, "I didn't finish. I only went for two years, but those two years were really good for me to just step away for a little bit and grow up without the prying eyes of the public and all the judgment that accompanies it. So that was good, and I don't know."
The 31-year-old first rose to prominence at the age of 15 after appearing in the 1994 drama movie 'Little Women', an adaptation of the much-loved LOUISA MAY ALCOTT novel of the same name.
