Cirque Du Soleil Performance Falls Flat: Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour - Comments and Message Board

I have read that they changed the format for the opening night to be more ‘Michael’ than the usual run; this also comes with the news that they could not bring, (Ship)? Some of the usual props over – one being the Giving Tree – and less dancers performing in this run! And now, the show looks and sounds different in such a vast arena? If all the above are true and Cirque have read the reviews thus far – they really will have to do something here. It appears to have been doing great in the US. This is a shame. However, one or two review articles on Immortal have been mentioning the Beatles, LOVE and Viva Elvis in comparison and I find that a strange thing to do, to be honest. Fact is, Viva Elvis closed down due to poor attendance. Also, Immortal was the number 1 show at one time. It was doing very well in America. I know that shipping is a slow form of transport regarding props, but it sounds like the venue is also too vast – swallowing up the whole thing – then, having less performers perform….well…. I just hope they are able to work something out to help bring some of the magic that appears to have got lost, back. The star is not here, so they have to try double hard to impress. Really hope it works out okay. I do hope to see it sometime after it opens in Vegas! Sweet dreams, Michael X
