Christina Hendricks Is Proud Of Curves
'Mad Men' actress Christina Hendricks says her mother has always taught her to be proud of her curvy figure.
Christina Hendricks has always been proud of her body.
The 'Mad Men' actress - whose voluptuous body has seen her dubbed the curviest woman in Hollywood - says her mother has taught her to be confident about her curves and she has no intention of losing them.
She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "I love my body as it is. People in the industry have been telling me to lose weight for years but I like the way I look.
"I give credit for my mother for helping me feel good about my appearance - for making sure I never felt embarrassed about my body, because she was never worried about looking too big."
Despite being famous for her sexy figure, Christina hasn't always been curvy but prefers her shape now.
She said: "I started out as a model and when I went to Italy to build my book I gained 15 pounds from all the pastas and cappuccinos. I
saw my body change and I loved how it changed my appearance and how it made me look more womanly and sexy."
Christina - who is married to actor Geoffrey Arend - had previously said she was initially "surprised" by the attention her voluptuous figure received but she is now happy to be a role model for curvy women.
She said: "When the attention started to be about my figure, I was surprised, because it wasn't something I was focused on. And then it became very positive, and people were saying very nice things.
"I remember Geoffrey saying, 'That's what you're doing for people. That's amazing.' And I said, 'I'm just trying to be a good actress and trying to tell a story, but if this is the sidebar, all this positivity, then that is awesome.'"
