Christian Bale Visits Victims Of 'Dark Knight Rises' Shooting
Bale - who was in Europe promoting the film when the gunman struck - arrived at the medical centre with his wife Sibi Blazic, spending almost three hours with the injured. 20 of the 58 injured wounded in the midnight attack are being treated at the centre, some of them still in a critical condition. During the low-key visit, Bale - wearing a t-shirt and jeans - posed for pictures with those wounded in the gunfire, including Carey Rottman, who was shot in the leg. Shortly after being injured, Rottman had posted on her Facebook page, "Shot in the leg at Batman. Where is he when you need him. Please pray for everyone there". A picture of Bale was posted on Twitter by elated medical staff on Tuesday, with the caption "What a surprise! 19 Swedish staff members met actor Christian Bale today Tmca! More details soon". Bill Voloch, interim president of the hospital said, "The patients were really happy to meet Bale. They are obviously big fans of his movies. They wanted to see Batman. It was good for the patients. We hope it was therapeutic for them, and all the staff really appreciated him coming".
James Holmes, 24, is accused of shooting 12 people dead and wounding 58 more at the cinema outside Denver during the first screening of The Dark Knight Rises. He appeared in court for the first time this week, appearing dazed and a little confused while sporting bright orange hair.
