James Nesbitt - Chris O' Dowd To Host Bifas

Chris O' Dowd will host this year's Moet British Independent Film Awards.

The 'Bridesmaids' actor will take over from James Nesbitt - who has presented the ceremony for the past six years - at the event in Old Billingsgate in London on December 4th where 'Senna', 'Shame', 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy', 'Tyrannosaur' and 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' will compete in the Best British Independent Film category.

Chris said: "I am delighted to be the new host of the Moet British Independent Awards this year and I'm really looking forward to the 4th of December. It's a ceremony which cherishes innovation, elegance and class so I'm humbled that they've chosen a host who so clearly lacks any of these things. Expect dancing girls."

Awards directors Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson added: "We are so thrilled that Chris will be our host this year, he couldn't be more perfect for the job. It promises to be a hugely enjoyable night!"

The jury for the awards was also announced today with 'The Killer Inside Me' producer Andrew Eaton chairing the committee which includes actresses Gemma Arterton and Ruth Wilson and actor David Thewlis.

Winners from 18 categories will be announced at the ceremony which will be streamed live at www.lovefilm.com/MBIFA.
