Chris Martin - Chris Martin Bigs Up Nickelback

Chris Martin has been voicing his support for the Canadian rock band NICKELBACK.

The COLDPLAY frontman feels the much-maligned band – of the ubiquitous hit Rock Star – are unfairly treated by many people, reports the NME.

"I have nothing but respect for Nickelback," he says.

"They take a lot of flak from people who have never done fuck all in their life. And I think they're great. That is my final word."

Elsewhere, Martin has claimed that his million-selling band are "less shit" than they used to be

Following a concert in Munich last week, he told DJ Christian O'Connell: "I think our concert is the least shit Coldplay concert at the moment that you could have possibly ever seen. Do you see what I mean? We're better than we used to be."

"We've turned from a Mars Bar into a King-Sized Mars Bar."

COLDPLAY won the Best Rock/Indie Artist and Best Official Music Website at the BT Digital Music Awards last night (October 1st).
