Veteran Bbc Radio presenter Chris Denning has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing boys as young as nine.

The former Dj, 73, who was one of the original line-up of presenters on the Bbc's flagship Radio 1 station when it launched in 1967, admitted 29 sex assault charges dating from 1967 to 1984, involving boys aged nine to 16.

He denied a further 12 charges and is due to stand trial in London in November (14).

Denning was arrested as part of a probe into allegations of child abuse which was launched after late British entertainer Sir Jimmy Savile was exposed as a serial paedophile.
