Chris Cornell - Chris Cornell Supports Obama After Pulling Out Of Jay-z Festival

Rocker Chris Cornell put his President before Jay Z at the weekend (02Sep12) so he could show his support to Barack Obama at a rally in Iowa.
The Soundgarden frontman pulled out of a planned performance at the rap mogul's inaugural Made in America music festival in Pennsylvania, citing a scheduling conflict - and now it's clear what that was; he had an engagement with Obama.
Cornell joined The National at the U.S. leader's Living History Farms event in West Des Moines on Sunday.
He was greeted by huge cheers as he took the stage after a speech by Obama with just a guitar in his hand.
Cornell kicked off his surprise acoustic set with a rendition of Elvis Costello's What’s So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding? and closed with a stirring cover of John Lennon's Imagine before thanking everyone at the rally for their support for Obama.
