Chris Brown - Chris Brown Has Two Simple Words For His Grammy Critics
Chris Brown has launched a scathing attack on a number of celebrities and musicians who suggested he shouldn't even have taken part in Sunday's Grammy Awards, let alone take home an award. The decision to award Brown the gong for Best R&B Album has been heavily criticized following his history of domestic abuse.
It was just hours before the Grammys in 2011, when Brown was arrested for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, leaving her bloodied and battered and unable to perform at the event in Los Angeles. Despite undergoing rehabilitation, the R&B star is still under supervised probation and therefore raised eyebrows when he scooped an award at Sunday's ceremony. Journalists, musicians and female fans were especially puzzled by the decision, with country singer Miranda Lambert tweeting, "How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl". The Atlantic's Jeffery Goldberg wrote, "I don't look for the Grammys for moral clarity, but, really? Do the words 'felony assault' mean anything at all?", while "Wife beater" became a trending topic on Twitter. However, Brown has hit back at his critics this week with an expletive Twitter post, saying, "Hate All U Want Becuz I Got A Grammy Now! That's the ultimate F*Ck Off".
Brown also tweeted, "I'm so Over everyone's opinions.. Really!!!". His spokesman is yet to comment on the expletive remarks.
