Chord Overstreet - Chord Overstreet Set To Decide On Glee Return
Chord Overstreet has been handed the option to return to Glee for season three, despite recent reports suggesting he had been axed from the show. While it remains true that Overstreet wasn't promoted to a series regular with Darren Criss, the actor has been invited to continue as a recurring character, according to TVLine.com.
Glee fans reacted angrily to news that creator Ryan Murphy has decided against offering Chord a permanent deal, but a source close to the show revealed, "His option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time. If Chord wants to appear on Glee, the choice is his. The Glee writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him". The insider claims the actor and his representative have been told that he is welcome back for a third season and are currently awaiting his response. The source also points out that the recently promoted Harry Shum Jr took "two years to become a regular" adding, "If Chord has a great season, which we expect he will, then he will become a regular like Harry, possibly as early as January".
Actor and musician Chord Overstreet became an immediate fan favourite on Glee after making his debut as 'Sam Evans' in the show's second season.
