Chinese Pianist Lang Lang To Receive German Honour

Renowned classical pianist Lang Lang is to be honoured with Germany's highest civilian honour at a special ceremony next month (Aug12).

The Chinese musician has been chosen to receive the Order of the Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his outstanding career achievements.

Torsten Albig, the leader of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, says, "With this honour, we are marking the distinguished services of Lang Lang to German music culture and to the Schleswig-Holstein music festival."

Lang Lang will be presented with the prize on 24 August (12).
