Chilli Peppers Finish Second Night At Coachellaby Contributor | 29 April 2007
Red Hot Chilli Peppers finished off the second night of the Californian Coachella festival with typical swagger.
Performing on home turf, the legendary rockers swept through their greatest hits as well as tracks from their new album Stadium Arcadium.
Bassist Flea also knew how to entertain the crowd with some impromptu comedy. According to the NME, he joked: "What's a sheep with no legs? A cloud!"
The band played an opening trio of Can't Stop, Dani California and Otherside as well as Under the Bridge and By the Way.
Earlier in the day, Arcade Fire had performed a vibrant set with singer Win Butler immersing himself in the crowd for one song.
The Canadian band played a number of songs from their new album Neon Bible as well as fan favourites from their debut effort Funeral.
Taking to the stage a little later were Kings of Leon who seemed at home at the festival's warm and relaxed atmosphere.
The Followills played On Call, McFearless and My Party from new album Because of the Times as well as an assortment of tracks from their first two albums.
Trani, Molly's Chambers and California Waiting were given an airing from their debut Youth and Young Manhood.
Fan-favourite The Bucket and King of the Rodeo, which featured on second album Aha Shake Heartbreak, were also played.
