A U - Chief Keef Will Not Face Jail Over Alleged Probation Violation

A U.S. judge has declined to pursue legal action against rising rapper Chief Keef for allegedly violating his probation.

The star, real name Keith Cozart, is currently on probation for a 2011 weapons conviction and prosecutors claimed he broke the terms of his release by failing to notify authorities of his change in address in Chicago, Illinois - and insisted he be jailed pending a full hearing.

Cozart's attorney, Dennis Berkson, argued the Finally Rich hitmaker simply left his grandmother's home in Dolton to spend time with his uncle in nearby Northbrook so he could be closer to his studio, and on Wednesday (03Jan13) Cook County Juvenile Court Judge Carl Anthony Walker sided with the star.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Walker ruled there was not enough "credible evidence" to confirm the 17 year old had relocated permanently.

However, Cozart's problems are far from over - he is due back in court on 28 January (13) on separate allegations he violated his probation by taking part in a video interview at a New York gun range, where he allegedly took part in shooting rounds, which is strictly prohibited.
