Chief Keef - Chief Keef's Probation Violation Hearing Delayed
Up-and-coming rapper Chief Keef will have to wait until after Christmas (12) to learn if he will face punishment for an alleged probation violation.
The 17 year old, who is on parole for a 2011 weapons conviction, landed in trouble with officials in September (12) after conducting an interview with music publication Pitchfork.com at a gun range, where he allegedly took part in shooting rounds.
Video footage of the chat was posted online, but subsequently pulled from the website after it emerged that the star, real name Keith Cozart, could have broken the terms of his release as his probation forbids the operation of firearms.
Prosecutors are seeking to have the rapper placed in a juvenile detention centre and a judge in Chicago, Illinois recently ordered Pitchfork editors to hand over the unedited film footage so authorities can determine whether there was enough evidence to punish Cozart.
A hearing had initially been set for 12 December (12), but that date has now been postponed until 28 January, 2013, according to local paper the Chicago Sun-Times.
