Cheryl Cole - Cheryl Cole To Sue X Factor USA Bosses Over Her Axing From The Show
Cheryl Cole is reported set to sue the X Factor USA bosses for a fee believed to be $2.3 million following her dismissal from the show last year, TMZ has reported.
Cheryl's axing from the show came before the first season of the US version of the X Factor even went to air, but that hasn't stopped the Geordie from demanding more than $2 million from the show's producers; the fee that she would have been paid had she been kept on board.
As TMZ have revealed, Cheryl signed a 'Pay or Play' contract with the show's production team at Blue Orbit Productions that promised her $1.8 million for Season 1 and further $2 million for Season 2, regardless of whether she appeared on the show or not. The Girls Aloud singer also claims that the producers also promised to pay for expenses too, which is why she is asking for $2.3 million rather than the $2 million she was allegedly promised. As of yet, no one from Blue Orbit Productions has given word on their stance on the lawsuit.
For those of you who can't remember, Cheryl was axed from the show last year before things had even gone underway and was replaced with Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger, who was in turn replaced with Britney Spears this season. Producers blamed Cheryl's thick Newcastle accent as the reason behind her dropping from the show, amidst fears that the American audiences would struggle to understand her.
