Cheryl Cole - Cheryl Cole 'Still Grumpy' With Simon Cowell

The Girls Aloud star was onboard as a judge on the American version of Cowell's talent show, but she exited the project days after it began shooting amid reports producers couldn't understand her.

Cowell has made moves to thaw his frosty relationship with Cole but admits she is still unhappy about the situation.

He tells Heat magazine, "We've texted. She's still grumpy with me. I can look at myself in the mirror and say I wasn't being mean. I offered her a lot of money to go back (to U.K.'s The X Factor) as a hero and it didn't work out. I'm sorry for the way it worked out, as we were incredibly close."

However, the acid tongued pop judge still hopes for a reconciliation: "When you have the history we have, you eventually work it out."
