Chart Double A Doddle For Take That

by | 03 December 2006

Grownup boyband Take That are celebrating an unlikely chart double after their new album Beautiful World sold more copies than any other during the last week.

Last Sunday the foursome's comeback single Patience topped the charts, a place it still occupies today. Take That now have eight number one singles and three number one albums to their names.

Akon ft Eminem is another non-mover one place behind Patience with Smack That in the singles chart, while Booty Luv's Boogie 2Nite is a new entry in the top ten at three.

Also on the up is recently sexed-up songstress Nelly Furtado, whose All Good Things (Come to an End) rises nine places to four.

Justin Timberlake and Ti complete the top five with My Love, with Beyonce proving Irreplaceable at six. Children in Need single Downtown by Emma Bunton falls four to seven, while Put Your Hands up for Detroit by Fedde Le Grand drops one to eight.

Proving that success in the album chart is difficult to translate to its singles equivalent, the Fratellis and Muse round off the top ten with Whistle for the Choir and Knights of Cydonia.

Elsewhere in the album chart Il Divo are forced to play second fiddle to Take That with Siempre, pushing Stop the Clocks by Oasis, The Love Album by Westlife and the Beatles' Love into third, fourth and fifth respectively.
