Charlize Theron Helps Guard Who Suffered Oscars Seizure
Actress leaps into action to help save venue security guard
Charlize Theron didn’t win any awards at the Oscars on Sunday night (February 24, 2013) but she had a pretty eventful time at the Academy Awards regardless! The South African-born actress found that her first aid skills were unexpectedly needed after a security guard working at the Dolby Theater suffered a seizure while she was in the vicinity.
If you can’t recall, there’s a picture up there to remind you that Theron was looking very glamorous but not exactly in attire designed for quick reactions and movement on Oscars night. However, that didn’t stop her from rushing to the aid of the guard, along with a couple of others, and attempt to help the stricken man get to his feet, as someone else called a doctor. Good on ya Charlize!
If that wasn’t enough excitement for one night, Theron also appeared in a dance number on the stage with Channing Tatum. Theron and Tatum ballroom danced to The Way You Look Tonight by Fred Astaire – sang by Oscars host Seth MacFarlane – and afterwards she told E! Online "(It was) completely nerve-wracking, but how could I not dance with Channing Tatum? He's so wonderful! I was sort of tricked into it. I thought it was going to be something smaller, like he (MacFarlane) pulls me up from the audience and we do a little spin. But then he was was like, 'Rehearsals start Monday!'" No Oscars, but certainly a fun night for the star!;
