Charlie Sheen's Anger Management: Writers Begin On Season Two?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, FX and Lionsgate have already told creator Bruce Helford and his writing team to head back to work on July 9, so confident are they of a second series. The show will have to meet undisclosed ratings, but if it does, a 90-episode order will be arranged. The first four episodes of the show have sold out their advertising space (mainly with car, alcohol and movie adverts) and Fiat have signed on as a presenting sponsor. Lionsgate has already sold the series in Canada, Latin America, Germany, Scandinavia and Australia for around $600,000 an episode - more than what Seinfeld and Two and a Half Men commanded. Roughly, the studio is expected to generate around $1 million per episode in international sales.
Based on the Jack Nicholson movie of the same name, 'Anger Management' stars Sheen as a former minor-league baseball player who becomes a therapist, opting for an aggressive style of working with his patients. The show will debut on the FX channel on June 28, 2012.
