Charlie Sheen Pledges $1 Million To Military Charity Organization
"It's an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us," Sheen said in a statement. "They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I'm just happy that my work on 'Anger Management' can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families."
Non-profit group Uso offers a variety of services to U.S. troops and their families in 27 states and 14 countries; unsurprisingly they said it "greatly appreciated" Sheen's support for the group. The actor will give the Uso a first payment of $250,000 later this week. Although some will no doubt suggest it might be a PR exercise to prove that Sheen is fully over the issues that led to him losing his job on 'Two And A Half Men', it's hard not have your heart softened by this gesture.
