Charlie Sheen has spent the past week or so setting about restoring his image following a year of madness, and his return from the edge looks to be gaining momentum somewhat quicker than anticipated, with The Hollywood Reporter stating that the actor and former star of 'Two And A Half Men' is to host this evening's telecast of the Emmy Awards.
Few details have emerged regarding the rumours, but should it occur it would complete a remarkable turnaround of events for Sheen, who this week also turned up on the Today show to give a composed interview about what he put down as a "crazy chapter" in his life.
Sheen's latest publicity tour comes as his 'Comedy Roast' is set to air tomorrow night (19/9) on America's Comedy Central. Contact Music had previously reported that the 46 year-old had found some of the comments "biting" when it had been recorded last weekend. Talking of biting, retired boxer and once-notorious bad boy Mike Tyson has admitted empathy with Sheen's plight, telling Fox before attending the Roast, "I don't envy anything about his life, my life is pretty much parallel to his." The former World Heavyweight Champion became known as much for his partying and wild ways as he did his supreme boxing ability in the late 80s and 90s - eventually serving three years in jail from 1991 for the rape of an 18 year-old student.
Though Sheen's descent didn't reach such dark depths, he nevertheless seems to be relieved to be back on the right track.
