Celine Dion - Celine Dion Wasn't Worried About Losing Voice

Celine Dion never feared for her voice when a nasty viral infection silenced the singing superstar earlier this year (12), because her happiness doesn't depend on her career.
The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker fell ill in February (12) and was placed on several months' vocal rest, forcing her to scrap all of her Las Vegas concerts up until this month (Jun12).
The singer, 44, is due to return to the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday (09Jun12), but, in an interview on U.S. breakfast show Today on Monday (04Jun12), she insisted she would not have been too devastated if the ailment had pushed her into an early retirement.
When asked if she ever worried about losing her voice forever, she replied, "No, I guess you feel that you have something much more, better in your life.
"I don't depend on my vocal cords; I don't depend on my success and my singing. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but I don't hold on to that. When you have children you have accomplished a lot."
Dion has three sons with her manager husband Rene Angelil - 11-year-old Rene-Charles and 19-month-old twins Eddy and Nelson.
