Celebs Glam Up For Eltonby Contributor | 19 December 2006
Numerous musical stars turned up on the red carpet last night to support Sir Elton John at the premiere of It's a Girl Boy Thing.
His partner, David Furnish, is executive producer of the high school comedy and the premiere was held in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation.
Cast members Sharon Osbourne and Kevin Zegers put on their glad rags for the Leicester Square viewing and were joined by a whole host of other celebrities.
Musical colleagues of Sir Elton included Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant, Linzi Stoppard, Geri Halliwell, Jameila and Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts.
Along with TV hosts Graham Norton and Steve Jones were regular red carpet walkers Calum Best and Camilla al Fayed.
Speaking at the premiere last night, Sir Elton said that after speaking to the princes William and Harry he may have a greater role at the Concert for Diana than simply singing.
"They [the princes] said there might be a role for me doing the MC bit by linking it all together, which I don't mind doing," he said. "The princes will choose all the acts and if I can help coordinate it, I will."
His last high-profile performance for the princess was at her funeral in 1997 when he sang a new version of his hit, Candle in the Wind.
