Cat Deeley's New Show Faces The Axe

Cat Deeley may see her new show cancelled unless it can pull in more viewers, according to the Press Association. Cat Deeley's new UK Saturday evening show 'So You Think You Can Dance', was seen by just 3.63 million viewers in its first live final on Sunday and Bbc bosses are considering axing the program.

Deeley's show went up against 'Britains Got Talent', which still managed to attract 10.4 million viewers despite Simon Cowell's absence from this year's judging panel. Bbc bosses are now hoping 'So You Think You Can Dance' will fare better this weekend when it its aired immediately after the new series of Doctor Who. The show, which features Louise Redknapp, Arlene Phillips and Nigel Lythgoe, has been a huge success in the U.S, where it is also hosted by Deeley. A source told the Daily Mirror, "It looks as though viewers have got bored of So You Think You Can Dance, which has gone into freefall in terms of viewing figures. Producers are struggling to halt the decline, and senior bosses have lost patience with the format. It's unlikely there'll be another series".

Cat Deeley, who has become a recognisable face on U.S. television in recent years, is currently hosting the American special 'Royally Mad'. The show sees the presenter taking audiences on a tour of "all things royal" including locations central to the wedding of Price William and KATE MIDDLETON.
