Casey Kasem's body is reportedly missing with his children and the funeral home apparently unaware of its whereabouts. However his wife, Jean Kasem née Thompson, is denying the body has been moved.
It's been more than a month since Casey Kasem's passing, yet he's still not buried and the location of his body is unknown. His daughter, Kerri Kasem, is claiming his body has been removed from the Washington morgue. Whilst his wife, Jean Kasem née Thompson, remains adamant the body is still there.

The US radio host and voice actor, best known for providing the voice of Shaggy in Scooby-Doo, died in Washington on 15th June. In the months leading to his death, his family were constantly arguing in court, and out, about who was responsible for his healthcare.
It became evident in October 2013 that Kasem was seriously unwell and he was diagnosed with a form of dementia. His second wife, Jean Thompson, allegedly prevented Kasem's three children from a previous marriage, Mike, Julie and Kerri, from seeing their father. In May, it was revealed Thompson had removed Kasem from a nursing home and taken him on a trip to Washington in order to stay at a friend's home.
At the beginning of June, Kasem's children managed to obtain a court order which ensured they were able to manage their father's health care. The judge further stipulated the family would have to avoid each other and have separate visiting times. Yet, even after Kasem's death, his wife's relationship with his children has certainly not improved.

Now, Kerri Kasem is claiming her father's body has been removed from a Washington state morgue. Her representative Danny Deraney, speaking to CNN, claims the family do not know where Kasem's body is. The family are further claiming Thompson has moved the body from the funeral home where it has lain since June. Kerri said, "We are not surprised. We expected something like this to happen."
However 59-year-old Thompson, an actress who married Kasem in 1980, has claimed otherwise. Speaking to CNN, she stated the body is not missing and simply wishes to be left in peace to grieve. Yet the plot further thickens as the funeral home, Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, Washington, has also spoken to media outlets and stated they are no longer caring for the body.
The case of the missing body appears to have arisen after Thompson allegedly planned to have an autopsy carried out on her late husband's body, according to the L.A. Times. Kerri petitioned a Washington court for a temporary restraining order after she reportedly discovered Thompson was planning the autopsy. Kerri wrote in court documents: "I'm concerned about the results of any autopsy Jean Kasem may have commissioned and how they might be used. Consequently, I thought it would be best to ask the Washington court to allow me to have an autopsy conducted by a forensic pathologist of my own selection."
