The Princess Bride - Cary Elwes Sued Over Credit Card Debt
The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes is facing legal action from a debt collection company after allegedly failing to pay his credit card bill.
The British actor, who played Westley in the classic 1987 movie, is being sued by bosses at Investment Retrievers Inc. after racking up a bill of more than $40,000 (£25,000) in 2010.
According to the lawsuit, filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court last month (Nov12), Elwes sent a $2,000 (£1,250) cheque to the California firm but has since stalled on his payments.
A court hearing into the matter is set for 13 March (13), reports Tmz.com.
