Carol Vorderman - Carol Vorderman Replacing Kate Thornton On Loose Women?
Carol Vorderman, the British television personality who co-hosted 'Countdown' for 26 years, is expected to replace Kate Thornton on the popular daytime chat-show 'Loose Women', according to the UK's Daily Mail. Voderman and the former Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay have been tipped to take their places on the panel as part of a shake-up to rescue dwindling ratings.
The show has faced a significant ratings drop since January, when the usual viewing figures of around 2 million dropped to just 700,000. Following the recent dismissal of regular panellists Kate Thornton and Zoe Tyler, a number of candidates have been rumoured to takeover, including Dawn French, Caroline Quentin and the Royle Family writer Caroline Aherne. However, it appears as though Voderman has won the race to front the show, with Lindsay also expected to join regulars Lisa Maxell, Carol Mcgiffin and Denise Welch. Known for its 'no-holds-barred' debates, the show has welcomed guests including Katie Price, Joan Rivers and Russell Brand.
Carol Vorderman recently fended off stiff competition from Pippa Middleton to win the 'Rear of the Year' Award. It is assumed the presenter received votes from middle aged women envious of her slim figure.
