Carly Rae Jepsen wants role on Glee

Carly Rae Jepsen wants to star on 'Glee'.

The 26-year-old popstar - whose song 'Call Me Maybe' was recently covered on the hit musical TV show - thinks it would make sense for her to make a guest appearance on the series because of her background in musical theatre.

The singer told more! magazine: ''At this point, I wouldn't say no to anything. I'm leaving my options open and seeing what happens.''

She admitted it would be ''pretty cool'' to follow in the footsteps of past 'Glee' guest stars including Lindsay Lohan, Ricky Martin, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow.

'Call Me Maybe' was covered by the cast of 'Glee' during the first episode of its new series last week.

Given her biggest hit has already featured on the show, Carly hinted she would be happy to sing songs by some of her own idols if she were to nab a role.

She said: ''I love Robyn, and I'm really into Jagged Edge and La Roux. I've been listening to older stuff like Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrison too.''

The Canadian-born hitmaker took some time out from her busy schedule to celebrate the launch of her new album at a West Hollywood club on Thursday night (20.09.12).

She toasted the release of her latest record 'Kiss' at Bootsy Bellows after spending time filming the video for new single 'The Kiss'.
