The full line-ups for the Carling stage at the Reading and Leeds festivals have been announced, with some surprising additions.
Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr will be headlining the stage, bringing his solo offering Yours to Keep to the Carling weekend crowds.
The announcement marks a huge achievement for what is principally a side-project for the New Yorker.
Patrick Wolf, who released his third album The Magic Position this year, has also been given a high-profile slot warming up the crowd before Hammond.
Indie cross-over band Hot Hot Heat will headline one of the other three days, along with Battles and Foals.
The Carling stage has earned something of a reputation over the years as being a stepping stone to a headline slot in the future.
Matt Helders, who experienced the tent with his band Arctic Monkeys, will be headlining Glastonbury this year and he thinks there could be some magic on the stage.
"When we played on the Carling stage there was a bit of a buzz around us but we had no idea what would happen. Until then we'd only played to audiences of 300 to 800," the drummer said.
"Six thousand came to the Carling tent. People said it was like when the Foo Fighters first played. It's not a foolproof plan that on filling the Carling tent you become famous, but it has happened quite a bit."
Other bands gracing the Carling tent this year include 1990s, Cajun Dance Party, Kate Nash and Kubichek.
Headlining the main stage this year will be Razorlight, Kings Of Leon and Interpol, as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Bloc Party and the Smashing Pumpkins.
On the Radio 1/NME Stage, Ash, The Subways, the View, the Twang and the Klaxons will all be playing top slots.
