The up-and-coming actress Cara Santana has accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe, according to a report from the UK's Daily Mail today (January 17, 2012). The pair have been dating since 2009 but Jesse's publicist declined to comment on his private life. A source is quoted as saying that they have been living together for three years.
According to the report, Jesse posted a picture online of himself and Cara about to board a plane to L.A. for a press weekend. Metcalfe is currently starring as Christopher Ewing in an updated version of Dallas. The new version will also feature Jordana Brewster, Charlene Tilton, Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy. Jesse previously played the role of Eva Longoria's character's pool boy in Desperate Housewives. Last year, he told reporters that he wanted to return to the show to reprise the role before the end of its final season. Cara, meanwhile, features in the TV series The Whole Truth, with Rob Morrow, Maura Tierney and Eamonn Walker.
This is not Jesse Metcalfe's first high-profile relationship. Between 2006 and 2008 he dated the Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle. Troubles in their relationship were widely publicised and Jesse also entered rehab for alcohol addiction for some of the time that they were together. They eventually split in 2008.
