French singer Bertrand Cantat has been questioned by authorities after his ex-wife was found dead at her home.
The Noir Desir frontman, who was jailed for killing his girlfriend in 2003 but released on parole in 2007, is said to have been sleeping at Kristina Rady's home in Bordeaux, France when she hanged herself on Sunday (10Jan10).
Rady, 41, was found by one of the couple's two children, a 12-year-old boy and seven-year-old girl.
Cantat was questioned by cops but will not face legal action, according to Britain's Daily Telegraph
A source tells the newspaper, "According to initial findings confirmed by some technical data, the death was due to suicide by hanging."
The 45-year-old star was convicted of beating his actress partner Marie Trintignant to death in a Lithuanian hotel in 2003.
He married Rady in 1997 but they separated after he met Trintignant.
