George Clooney - Cancer Scare For George Clooney's Model Ex-girlfriend

The British model and TV personality, who was in a five-year on/off relationship with the actor, feared the worst after doctors discovered a lump in her breast.

She recalls, "I had my own little scare recently. Because of the history of breast cancer in my family, I went for a routine check a year ago. They found a little something."

The growth turned out to be harmless, but Snowdon, who is a spokesperson for two cancer charities in the U.K., admits the experience highlighted the importance of regular screenings.

Snowdon adds, "It turned out to be a micro-calcification (deposits of calcium in the milk ducts), which is common and nothing dangerous. But it was really good to have had the check and now I go every year."
