Canadian Idol Contestant Arrested On Terrorism Charges
A male AVRIL LAVIGNE wannabe who impersonated the star on CANADIAN IDOL has been arrested on suspicion of participating in a terrorism plot against the country.
Khurram Syed Sher, who sang an out-of-tune version of Lavigne's Complicated on the 2008 season of the talent show, stands accused of conspiring to carry out attacks on his adopted home.
Cops in the capital Ottawa reportedly seized electronic circuit boards that could have been used as bomb triggers from the possession of Sher and two other men when they were arrested on Wednesday (25Aug10).
The trio appeared in court on Thursday (26Aug10) and are being held in police custody.
